World Cup Willy

A couple of years after the 1966 World Cup, I had a friend at Edmonton School called Roger whose dad had a large stockpile of World Cup Willy badges left over from the World Cup.
He said they were being kept for a rainy day when they would be worth their weight in gold.
I wonder where they are today, being sold on ebay?
